I think Platner learned the realities of our forever wars the hard way and was very angry with our political system, military-industrial complex that promotes this; that he was previously experiencing PTSD which led to bad behavior with women, which he admitted. That he read a lot, became involved in local politics and understood and supported the progressive policies that he advocated. The likes of New York Senator Gillibrand may have led the charge to dump him; as she did to Senator Franken. The Dem party has been going all out to try to defeat progressives. Think they are stuck in their counter productive practices, which organizers like Maxwell Frost, Leaders We Deserve, have been fighting.
Platner is a very talented leader, and hope he will not be deterred by this set back and will continue to heal from PTSD... focus on a good marriage and work for now. We will need him in the ongoing fight for democracy and our country.
