Republicans fear data centers will cost them Ohio, the DOJ is backing Musk's AI nudify tool, the military held journalists at gunpoint, and wild horses are being sold to slaughter for $25
"A Hawaii High Schooler Discovered That Coconut Fungi Can Eat Plastic." Hopefully this great discovery will turn into the answer to the Worlds waste plastic problem and not the "Fungus that ate Oahu, Hawaii." In any case , either was, I see a great movie in the making.
For crying out loud - where have you all been - The BLM and FS have been rounding up and warehousing Wild Horses for decades! AND paying people $1,000.00 to "adopt" them. I believe that little project has been stopped, but there are others. Right now roundups are ongoing in many HMAs (herd management areas). IF a horse has been rounded-up and offered for adoption three (3) times unsuccessfully, that horse can be sold under "sale authority" - the buyer no longer has to keep the horse for a year (adoption "rule") but can haul it to an auction & sell it for slaughter. The sad thing is - if the buyer is someone with no experience with wild horses and/or no experience with training horses - that horse may just end up in the slaughter pipeline - because these horses are WILD - not domestic - WILD. Many have never been handled by humans at all.
The idea here that this is something new - unknown - is ridiculous. For decades the BLM has had adoption events in various places all over the country.
Back in late 1960s it was a big deal - Congress passed the Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act in 1971, which was supposed to protect them. Of course there were changes/amendments to that act which removed some protections.
