A growing number of former Republicans are running for office as Democrats in the 2026 midterms, arguing that their backgrounds give them a unique ability to connect with voters who feel homeless in either party.

Yes. And that is what is wrong with the two-party duopoly. We can move toward a multiple-party system and we should (see https://www.opednews.com/articles/A-Vote-of-Opposition-Approval-Voting_Balanced-Approval-Voting_Opposition-Party_Plurality-Voting-260820-640.html ), but it will take time. But we need to get started on it.

"More and More Former Republicans Are Running as Democrats"

I would never trust a politician that was a Republican. They promoted a party whose platform was based on lies and worked to bestow more money and power on the wealthy and powerful. Scum.
